HELP save Bioidentical Hormone Therapy from the FDA

The following is an email from a quality compounding pharmacy that is pertinent to everyone (eventually), but especially pertinent to those who are currently using any type of compounded bio-identical hormone therapy.  Please read what the CEO of MedQuest sent out, as we at Oasis Family Medicine encourage you to take action.  This is not an anti-FDA email.... merely a "please help guide them to do what's best for you."  Thank you.

IF YOU'RE CONCERNED BY THE SUBJECT OF THIS EMAIL, YOU SHOULD BE.
We sincerely hope we never have to send you a notice like this, but FDA is currently considering policies that would, at a minimum, make it harder for you to get your prescriptions filled for bioidentical hormones. Worst case, these policies could outlaw compounded hormones that FDA thinks compete with one-size-fits-all drug company products.

CLICK HERE TO COMMUNICATE WITH BOTH CONGRESS AND FDA TO HELP US MAKE SURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN.

Briefly, FDA has two initiatives that could jeopardize your access to hormones. First, they are trying to use an obscure federal law passed 22 years ago to make it difficult or impossible for a compounding pharmacy to fill your prescription. Second, they are funding a study conducted by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) to determine whether patients even need alternatives to manufactured drugs. Compounding industry leaders and associations believe that the current information presented to NASEM may be one-sided favoring manufactured products, possibly with predetermined outcomes in mind. This could lead to a potential FDA ban on many of the medications you use.

LEARN MORE AND TAKE ACTION TODAY to preserve a patient's right to use compounded hormones and a medical provider's right to prescribe them. THE STAKES COULDN'T BE HIGHER.

Thank you for your support.
